Add an account on the server for room1. You make a Disconnected IMAP
account on your KMail that uses the room1 server account and check the
"Account for semi-automatic resource handling" checkbox (note that you
can have as many KMail accounts as you want). Set this to check for mail
on some interval, like every five minutes. On the Groupware page, check
the two checkboxes for automatic answering, unless you want manual
intervention.
Now, when KMail receives a mail in the INBOX of the room1 account, it
checks the availability of room1 - if the room is free or not. If it's
free, it replies with an OK. If not, it declines.
The user who wants to book the room does this by sending an invitation to
room1 in the timeframe he wants the room.
I can come up with several disadvantages to this way of doing it, but it
was a very simple solution to do.
Bo.
