Take a look at the Samba documentation, also take a look at:

The Samba-HOWTO-Collection: the version for HEAD/3.0 is more up to date and
most of it still applies to version 2.2.x

Also I will have a few LDAP comments on the Kolab-devel list, when I get a
chance.
