Something like IE, NS, Opera, Mozilla, Konqueror - a web-browser.

I could work "offline" within the intranet of the company.

Due to the fact that we have tele workers (Telearbeitsplätze, Heimarbeit) most
of our employees will only be able to use the Groupware Online.
While traveling it would be easier to be able to use a browser instead of a
special client.

To bad.
You don't need to create a client. There just must be a server tool (Plugin)
which makes it possible to open Kroupware / Kolab via a web-browser.

Yes, thats what I ment.

Now I don't understand you ;-)
What do you mean by orthogonal?

What about the client then?
Wouldn't it be easier if both systems I must integrate then will have a unique
client?
For example a web-browser.

Asking Google this is

- but "help desk" IMHO is not a CRM-Tool.

I ment
- contact management (the customer data itself)
- document management (link customers with documents, bills, mails, notes and
so on)
- communication with customers (e.g. writing eMail to a special group of
customers)
- linking our employee with customer (e.g. if phone rings and customer phone
number is shown he will be forwarded to "his" employee)

As far as I know management of external contacts is one of the main goals of
each groupware. Thats why I asked you if the following CRM options are also
included.
I think it wouldn't be as easy as you mentioned above to just include another
system because of redundant data.

One system which does the crm part (but is somewhat badly arranged)
(=unübersichtlich) is www.tutos.org

Would be GREAT if you could include the CRM features to Kroupware and maybe
find a addon to make it web-ready.

Thanks a lot,
Alexander
