Hey

First try to unsinstall kolab
Then when setting LANG and LC_MASSAGES try to reinstall the kolab package with
rpm -ihvv ( mind the vv for extra debug output)
Did you remember to set your hostname ? and defaultdomain ?

If this does not work :
How does your kolab.conf file look like ? It should be some thing like this:

base_dn : dc=www,dc=advantux,dc=no
bind_dn : cn=manager,dc=www,dc=advantux,dc=no
bind_pw : XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
ldap_uri : ldap://127.0.0.1:389
php_dn : cn=nobody,dc=www,dc=advantux,dc=no
php_pw : XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

What happens when you run the command: "/kolab/etc/kolab/kolab -v -o -l
ldap://127.0.0.1:389" ?

This command should regenerate all you config files If this didn't work try
using SuSE or Gentoo. ( RedHat suck anyway :) )
