Thnx for the quick response.

Well when I run KMail the Toolbar only has two icons and I can't
manually add icons. can send and receive mail using the keystrokes
(CTRL+N and CTRL+L). The rest looks good grous are created I see the
organizer, though I didn't test that yet.

Maybe you gave the solution because I installed the tarrballs with
default options and kdenetwork and kdepim already installed.
