It is also possible to do it for each user in kaddressbook. The concept is 
the distribution lists.

If you start kaddressbook and open the distribution lists, you can add 
your own. The name of the list here can be used directly in KMail to send 
to a group of people.

Of course this is error prone when for instance adding users to a group 
(all group people must remember to do this), and would be much better 
handled on the server. It's on the wishlist for 2.0.
