[Kroupware] Problems compiling gcc

As a followup to my question yesterday, I found a reference to the binutils 
package being needed before compiling gcc, I tried that, but it hasn't 
helped, I still get the same error.

There is something I find strange, from the instalation page I understand I 
should get a script called openpkg-1.1.0-1.1.0.ix86-linux2.4-kol.sh from the
bootstrap compile, however, my script is contains hk instead of kol, is there 
something I am missing or this is not really important? I am using a fairly 
up to date Red Hat 8.0.
