whilst going through the FAQ...
faq2.2. How to make administration more flexible when employing a large
number of Kolab servers without forcing the users to change the setup of
their clients?
suggests using DNS A record for *every* email address. Is this still
the recommendation?
Sendmail ( maybe postfix as well ) allows every email alias to have a
'mailhost' ldap attribute. If the mailhost attribute's value is not the
localhost or a localhost alias, then the mail gets routed to the server
specified in 'mailhost' attribute. This allows a mail hub/router scenario.
examples are here.

faq2.3 - Cyrus 2.2 supports virtual domains. But it's only from CVS
now, although it's been very stable. It makes the entire process of a
kolab_uid transformation unneccessary since a user's Cyrus username is
his/her full email address.
