That's a common problem with the kde build system. All KDE programs should be 
installed into the same directory as your KDE.

See http://www.kpovmodeler.org/install.html, section installation directory 
;-)

You can either recompile kpovmodeler with the configure flag 
--prefix=YOURKDEDIR or add the directory you installed KPovModeler into to 
the env variable KDEDIRS to tell KDE to search for resources in this 
directory.

If you KPovModelerexecutable is in to /usr/local/bin, add /usr/local to 
KDEDIRS.
