Just to complete on the previous information:

jpeg is a valid file format.
To use it, select jpeg from the File Type combo. The default will be sys
which is the same as output format, PNG by default.
Select the file using the browse button.
Povray will read the file from the current directory, or, if not found
there, from the library paths.

To use the file check the following solutions:
      a) check the file type combo to see if it matches the file you're
using;
	b) add the path to the file in the library paths (settings dialog);
	c) make the path of the file absolute.

If none of this works then there is a problem in kpovmodeler. In that case
I'll need some things from you:
	which library paths are shown in Settings Dialog, 
	the path for the file you intend to use, 
      the problematic scene file,
	the file you intend to use as image map.
