I can't reproduce what you are doing here, and is really puzzled about your 
bug report. In KPA we do simply use the filename as the key, so you can do 
whatever you do to your images outsite of KPA without us being concerned about 
that.

Could you elaborate on exactly which steps you took to see this bug? Are you 
sure you did't move the file to a new directory? (In which case KPA indeed 
would see it as a completely new file)
