Well, one online map application here in Czech republic [1] uses left
mouse button for dragging/panning actual view while Ctrl+mouse is used
for selecting an area to zoom in.
I choose Ctrl for panning because I didn't want to break compatibility
with existing KPA.
The patch hasn't been applied yet so feel free to change it as long as
you provide a workaround for people who can't use middle button (and no,
3rd button emulation won't help in this case because of wheel emulation).
Also note that while in the fullscreen view, left button is used for
zooming, but you use the middle one for that in the thumbnail view.
