[KPhotoAlbum] Status of SQL backend

Hi,

I'm very interested in Tuomas' work on the SQL backend, and I'd like to start 
playing with it, and working on some multi-database synchronization ideas 
that I have (and have discussed here on the list).

So, what's the status of the SQL backend?  Is it close to being ready for use?  
How can I configure it to start playing with what is there, and looking at 
the database schema with an eye to figuring out how to implement 
synchronization?

Thanks, and please excuse me if the answers to these questions are somewhere 
obvious -- I'm often incapbable of seeing what's right in front of me :-)
