Hi!

I have installed KPhotoAlbum (SVN version installed with the most recent KDE
3.5.5 update on an openSuSE 10.1 box running on an AMD x86_64 architecture) a
few days ago and can only repeat what others have said: Congratulations! This
is by far the best image storage tool i have worked with. I simply love the
approach you have chosen for assigning locations, keywords etc. to images.
Once i have learned to use the image property editing dialog, everything went
smoothly. And with carefully defined metadata, finding a certain image or
image set with certain properties works like a charm. But as is frequently
the case, even satisfied users always want more, so here goes:

I'm currently working on a task that i hope to get done much better with the
aid of KPhotoAlbum. I want to create a DVD slideshow and would like to have
the image descriptions as they are supplied in KPhotoAlbum to show up as
subtitles or whatever on each of the image slides. And, of course, i would
like to have only those images included that were retrieved from a current
query such as "shot during the 2006 trip to Tuscany" As i see it, this can
not be done from whithin KPhotoAlbum. I'm currently using other tools such as
QDVDAuthor (good quality of the generated video file, bad UI) or ManDVD
(intuitive UI, bad quality of generated video), both of which share the
problem that i have to import each image and supply image titles and
subtitles manually, which is sort of a pain if i have to do this for like 200
or even more images.

Maybe there already is a feature that i'm overlooking? There are several
KPhotoAlbum plugins installed but none of them seems to be fit for the task.

Any help/guidance is muchly appreciated.

Robert
