Hello,

I'd like to annouce that Kimdaba has entered the Debian archive
(unstable distribution). Those of you who use Debian can now smoothly
apt-get it :)

Currently, the official package does not include KIPI plugin support.
The kipi plugins and the required libraries are yet to be accepted in
Debian. Until then, the official kimdaba package cannot depend on
software that is not on the Debian archive. Good news is that these
additional packages will soon be included in Debian too.

For the time being, you may try the unofficial package, which has KIPI
plugin support and also works on Sarge. It is stored at Achim Bohnet's
unofficial repository. Just add:

deb http://www.mpe.mpg.de/~ach/debian/experimental ./
deb-src http://www.mpe.mpg.de/~ach/debian/experimental ./

to your /etc/apt/sources.list and install the kimdaba and kipi-plugins
packages.

In addition to being the current maintainer of the Kimdaba Debian
package, I'm also a devoted kimdaba user (6300+ images). I hope that you
find my work useful.

 Cheers,

    David L. Moreno
