I agree, the dismiss buttons of the reminder popup shouldn't be preselected.
IMHO it would be more wise to preselect the "later" button (if one must be
preselected) so the worst thing that can happen is that you get the reminder 5
minutes later when you accidentally hit enter at the wrong moment.
