It does work without problems in KDE 4.3.x when you don't use akonadi
ressources. No loss of data with plain ical files. But as soon as you use
akonadi to store your events data gets lost. I agree that this is very
critical, especially as you obviously cannot bypass akonadi in KDE 4.4 as you
can in KDE 4.3.
