I can confirm this behaviour in 4.4.2 (Kubuntu 10.04). More specifically, the
account-specific password dialogs appears after letting some time unanswered
the kdewallet initial login dialog. It's like there were some kind of timeout
in Kopete so, if the user doesn't answer to the kdewallet dialog in a given
amount of time, then Kopete simply asks for the passwords itself.

In my case, it happens for my two current Kopete accounts, an MSN one and a
GTalk (Jabber) one, so it doesn't look protocol-specific.

It's really annoying, as you end up filling up 3 password dialogs, the
kdewallet's initial one and the two account specific ones.
