I can confirm this with KDE 4.2.2 from Ubuntu packages.

* Custom emoticons don't have tooltips (tested with MSN protocol).
* Emoticon text is not copied in the clipboard when selected.
* Neither text nor emoticons are displayed anymore when a chat window is
reopened so there is no way to notice there were an emoticons in a previous
discussion. Same problem in chat history.
