My office uses Openfire 3.4.5.  Using the Kopete Version 4.1.85 (KDE 4.1.85
(KDE 4.2 Beta2)), I have NOT experienced any problems connecting to the
Openfire Jabber server.

Chris Ross's experience suggests a regression or a difference in XMPP server
implementations that a fix missed?
