[Konversation-devel] Frequent disconnects when using SSL

Hi,
I looked for a konversation-users mailing list, but this seems to be the
only one. Let me know if I'm in the wrong place..

Ever since March 5th I've been getting regularly disconnected from my
company's IRC servers. I'm the only one using Konversation, and the only
one with problems. There are two IRC servers on different machines, but
they have the same InspIRCd+GnuTLS setup. (different SSL certs though) Up
until then, things had been working fine for over a year. The servers
haven't changed.

The client log shows:
[11:30] [Error] Connection to server server1.example.com (port 6667) lost:
Unknown error.
The server logs show:
QUIT: Client exiting: A TLS packet with unexpected length was received.

Here's what happens when it's having trouble: I'll connect, then a minute
later get disconnected, it automatically reconnects 10 seconds later,
repeat. Over and over again. Meanwhile the other server is connected with
no problems. Then I'll go for a while with no problems and the other server
will start having trouble. If it were a connection problem on my end, I'd
think that both servers would have trouble at the same time. Throughout
this, I'm also connected to an unsecured Freenet server without issue.
Rebooting the IRC daemon on the server seems to cause the issue to go away
for a while, but it also disconnects the other users so I'd rather not do
that.

On March 4th, I see that my system was updated to
1:openssl-1.0.1e-3.fc18.x86_64. On the 5th, it updated to
gnutls-2.12.23-1.fc18.x86_64, but that was after the problem started
happening. I don't see any KDE updates in that time.

What are the next steps for me to diagnose this? I just downloaded and
installed konversation from git. Is the SSL backend configurable? Is it
using OpenSSL? Can I use GnuTLS instead?

Thanks,
Greg
