I used to be on IRC back in the dark ages when just about everyone was
only on efnet and undernet.. now w/ freenode, most of the time we have
more civil conversations , and much more civil dcc chats .. Except my
nick, which is the same as it has always been seems to attract ,
usually very young , but often very scatological youth ... who call me
names and swear etc. often in prov messages because to do so in the
channel would get them smacked. I usually just do /i foo.* .

My old client, which was largely OS/2 oriented but also some win95 and
98 , used to have a "button" on the right click button when it was over
the name of the offender that would do all the typing, much faster than
I can manage.  Could you do something like that , somewhere along the
right click menu that shows all sorts of info about the user in the
user list.
Openchat , as you might imagine, had a great deal of right click
usability. ;)  Konversation has been the most like it I have found .
