this would be optional anyways, right? just as the tabbar is better suited for 
2 or 3 channels, the vertical layout is better suited for 10 or 20 channels.

so yeah, i think it would be cool if konvi would support both layouts... as 
discussed with eisfuchs a looooooong time ago :-)
