Hi, sorry to hear that. You could enter a bug at bugs.kde.org <http://bugs.kde.org/> although it seems to be a bistro issue. Does everything work when starting your apps from xterm or another terminal? As far as downgrading, it will depend on what distribution you are using. You should ask on their help sites.
