Ok, I think the easy stuff we can workaround is done.

Now we either need to wait for

https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-78963

to be resolved (or shown that I was wrong and it is something different) or we
need to think about doing more full update() calls for the fractional scaled
case...
