  I found this to be working in Fedora WS 31.
  
  starting Konsole with     konsole --background-mode --hide-menubar      and manually bound 'Toggle Background Window' under Global Shortcuts > Konsole to     WINDOWS-F

  nice to put into ~/.bashrc  if you never saw a point Yakuake. You now get the same trick from Konsole. Distros can stop shipping Yakuake right away.
