I see your point but there's no easy way out.

Some ncurses editors just pad with spaces under certain conditions. I'd like to
be able to copy the text without trailing spaces - I know this is not correct
but "the correct behaviour" just makes my life worse.

I agree  that konsole should copy the trailing spaces that were printed (as it
does in 4.8.5) - that should be the default behaviour. But at the same time I'd
like to have an option to force konsole to trim the trailing whitespace.
