However, the described problem sounds quite mysterious to me.

So 'Initially' it worked in konsole, but 'Now' it doesn't? Or it initially
worked in other terminal emulators, but now it just does not work in konsole?

And what does "konsole will not type the password on the command line" exactly
mean? Does it mean your just can't input anything of your password, or does it
mean you can't input the correct password when using konsole? You can try
enabling the 'pwfeedback' in /etc/sudoers to check whether it is the first
case.

And do you use any input method? If yes, it is more likely the fault of input
method.

Please provide more information, because I can't reproduce and have never
encountered such problem.
