not yet... next time it happens i'll grab a backtrace of where it is spinning
and file a report.

it just started happening. i'm a *heavy* user of the search feature, so notice
when things go sideways with it almost immediately after a new build ;)

simplyfing the menus is good; but this changes the semantics of Ctrl+Shift+x
.. as konsole devs you are free to make it means what you want, but now i have
to:

* make sure any app that i'm running in that konsole tab is detached (e.g.
ctrl+z; bg; or run with &, if it doesn't auto-detach (as kuniqueapps do))

* ctrl+l

* ctrl+shift+x

it's at least one extra keystroke, and sometime several more, to replicate the
original behaviour which was absolutely great for watching logs and debug
output.

personally i can't think of a use case where "clear scrollback" would mean
"but keep what i can currently see on the screen". perhaps you guys have one
though :)

btw, i don't know if it's been recent work in konsole or what, but the
application feels much "snappier" now. switching between tabs, for instance,
had become rather slow ... but it's now back to great. so whatever's happened
... awesome! :)
