           Summary: bell notification too quiet
           Product: konsole
           Version: 2.4
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: konsole-devel at kde.org
        ReportedBy: chanika at gmail.com

Version:           2.4 (using 4.3.75 (KDE 4.3.75 (KDE 4.4 >= 20091113)),
compiled sources)
Compiler: gcc
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.30-ARCH

I thought there was a bug preventing konsole from making noise, but it turns
out it's just really really *really* quiet these days. I have the volume for
notifications and all the general mixer stuff maxed out now, and I've had to
turn amarok's volume down to 60% to compensate, but I can still *barely* hear
the bell sound in a quiet room with no music playing.

technically I *could* set the notification to run `echo -e "\a"` instead (there
no longer seems to be an actual system-bell option), but my pc speaker (which
the drivers only recently started supporting) has a really harsh sound, and I'd
much rather have the nice oxygen-y kde bell sound, if I could just *hear* it
again.

I haven't checked whether this applies to any other kde sound effects.. I'm
pretty sure I've had no trouble hearing the powerdevil noises, though. oh crap,
that means they're going to be LOUD now. :/
