Hello. I'm back.
Just to say that after rebooting the box I can now select text as usual.

Please note:
- Log out and then log in again did not solve this issue;
- Creating a totally new user and logging in had the same problems but after a
few hours it started working without any modifications (?)
- After rebooting it started working, again without any modification.

Wierd but true...

I think this can be closed. Maybe it's some glitch in this box. If it happens
again I'll bug you again ;-)
