Agreed. The report had me thinking about what would be the most 
efficient* way to store history. Having it in the bug seems to be a good 
place for such thoughts to not get lost, especially since changes will 
likely be delayed due to release scheduling and, as you say, the more 
urgent matter of leak-busting.

(* I'm not sure if pure-text-array is better or not; it seems it would 
be more work (a giant block move) to expire entries, and possibly 
require more bookkeeping. It's hard to say if it would be equally 
efficient as far as painting. But it is probably the most efficient as 
far as memory used.)
