Robert, (1st paragraph) -- true, on other hand for several years I had no need to know the size in characters of the terminal, because apps I use didn't need that. The same goes for window size.

And if somebody wants to have terminal at fixed sized, showing him/her size when resizing does not help too much, right? But I agree that it might be needed.

Anyway, such option is really needed to be "compatible" with SS. Thank you in advance.
