I'm aware resizing doesn't work, see BR 95932.

 However, minicom works fine here.  In fact it appears minicom does not resize the terminal.  I tried xterm with strange dimensions and minicom didn't resize xterm.  I don't know why you think minicom is resizing the terminal...

Minicom output looks O.K. to me.
