Ah, of course.

That is possible, and I showed it as well.  But it this is not as convenient
as just dragging (pulling?) the corner of konsole window and get the right
sized font with it.

It's a terminal program on MS.  I think it is the terminal emulator of exceed.
If it is not exceed it is probably the native one from MS.

What about making it configurable, that switches such a behaviour on or
off?

Like you, I was a little sceptic about the use real benefit of that functionality.  But once shown I opened the wish report for konsole.  I was
shown the functionality for a task that is highly demanding and requires the
right tools/functionality for the job.  There are 3 systems to be
converted at the same time, and they need to be monitored consistently =>
using tabs is not possible => because of this at least 6 konsoles are needed
to be on the monitor and all monitors should be monitored at the same time =>
small font (hardly readable).  Now something happens on 1 of the systems => drag corner (bigger font) =>  nothing serious =>  back to monitor mode 
(push corner) smaller font.  This happens many times during the conversion...
I hope you get the idea.
