I agree with the reporter that this is unpredictable behavior. I think 
predictability of the user interface is more important than the advantages 
that this feature bring along. I suggest that Ctrl-Alt-N be made equal to 
"New Shell" and that it is made possible to bind other shortcuts for starting 
other sessions.
