this is related to the 'cbt' terminfo capability (back_tab.)

any ncurses application potentially experiences this problem if ncurses 
decides to send a back_tab to the terminal emulator. i've seen this 
happen in an ncurses based app that i'm maintaining.

one workaround is to set TERM=xterm-color instead of xterm; xterm-color 
doesn't contain the 'cbt' capability.

please fix Konsole to understand back_tab, though! :-)
