I have no idea what needs to be done for that. On Feb 21 I added a patch that 
set the XIM position, is there anything else that needs to be done? Does it

I fixed that today.

I can copy & paste Japanese characters to KMail without a problem. Which apps 
don't work?

My main concern is to make konsole usefull and usable for all its users, 
including you. I really don't care about other terminal programs.
