Well, I guess your comment explains things: jed and pico are both mouse aware, 
so if I understand you correctly, this means that Shift-MMB is indeed broken 
for them. The big annoyance for me is that pine is pico-based, so now pasting 
in pine has become kind of kludgy.

Thank you! I didn't know that. 

So the summary is (please correct me if I'm mistaken):

- primary selection is highlighted anywhere, X's 'clipboard' is correctly 
loaded with the highlighted text.

- MMB paste works everywhere, except for curses-based apps (where it never 
has, and that's fine)

- Shift-MMB is currently broken (so there is a real bug here) for curses-based 
mouse-aware apps. Will be back in 3.0.1.

- Current workaround is to use Ctrl-Shift-Insert which will do what Shift-MMB 
would do if it worked.

I'd appreciate it if you can correct any mis-interpretations in the above 
summary.

So if that's the current situation, I can live with the Ctrl-Shift-Insert 
workaround for a while, and will eagerly await 3.0.1.

And finally, a HUGE round of applause for konsole. Even if KDE sucked (which 
it doesn't of course :) I'd still keep it around _only_ for konsole. I can't 
stand using other terminals anymore after getting used to the quality and 
features of konsole.
