I think I know the reason: Konqueror crashed several times, until  
rtti-support was enabled: The KDE-code contains a lot of  
"dynamic_cast<>" stuff which is very dangerous without rtti. I don't  
know whether there is a better solution to avoid rtti-support without  
destabilizing the code, but after enabling it, I had no crash  
(neither slashdot nor google maps). The downside is that rtti support  
has to be enabled in qt-e, too. But patching the code from  
dynamic_cast to static_cast does not help here.. :(
