DCOP

Could someone please tell me if Konqueror/Embedded supports DCOP? I read at 
http://linuxdevices.com/articles/AT3789128008.html the following: “It is not 
possible to use the real DCOP though, because it depends on the X11 ICE 
library. Independence from the X11 system is mandatory. Thus, a simplified 
version of the interprocess communication mechanism needed to be written. 
This version is specialized and limited to message exchange through pipes 
between the main process and each forked I/O-slave process.” Is that info 
still relevant (assuming it was)?
