Are (some) transactions automatically assigned to categories?

In case a payee is detected in the download, previous transactions are
searched to see if a similar amount is already on file. The categorization
of that previous transaction is then used for the newly downloaded one.

Starting KMyMoney from a terminal window will dump some information
about the process. I have to warn that this might not be very readable
and make full sense only when looking at the source code of KMyMoney.

I am not aware from the top of my head how that behavior can be turned off.
