G'day David,

Thanks for your reply.

I agree it is not my Linux and I have now found and d/l 5.0.4.

README.cmake says:

cmake is designed so that the build process can be done in a separate
directory. This is highly recommended for users and required for packagers.

Go to the top level of the git working directory.
To build KMyMoney in the subdirectory ./build/ type

But I am not sure what or where 'the git working directory' is. I can't 
find one in hidden files.

I have found:

But this is all new to me and I am not sure of the best place to put GIT 
as I have not encountered this sort of thing before. I usually just 
extract the .tar.xz into a directory and run install.sh which is an 
executable file.
