Problems updating mutual fund prices using Yahoo.com

Hi Jack - I'm a little confused by your answer. (I'm sure it's my fault and
not yours.)

I last successfully updated my mutual fund prices using Yahoo on December
7, 2018. Up until that time, I had had no problem. But when I went to
update last Friday, December 28, it had stopped working.

I can understand why updating to KMyMoney Version 5.02 from 4.6.6 would not
solve the problem of price sources and that they are two separate issues.
That is why I'm puzzled that you say "after you upgrade, if you still have
problems fetching prices, post back here, and someone will get it working
again for you." Wouldn't it be EXPECTED that I would still have problems
fetching prices, since the issue is no source for the prices? And how could
someone "get it working again"?

You mention you're using Financial Times, but on my KMyMoney list of
possible sources the only Financial Times source listed is "Financial Times
UK Funds" Since my investments are almost all in US mutual funds, I just
assumed that "UK Funds" would not work for me. In fact, I see nothing on my
KMyMoney list of sources that looks as if it would work.

In my research today looking for free apis for stock prices, I came across
Alpha Vantage, which provides free stock and mutual fund prices in a
simple, clear api for free. You have to sign up for an api key, but there
don't seem to be any strings attached to get the key, other than you have
to give them an email address. They claim they will not market or promote
to you with the email address. It will give you the price info in either
JSON or CSV formats. It would be great if someone who knows
programming could find a way to integrate this into KMyMoney's update
prices function. https://www.alphavantage.co/documentation/

Does KMyMoney 5.02 list of sources have one that would work for US mutual
funds?

Sorry for being a little thick on understanding this.

Jane
