Joe,

First, please start a new conversation with a new message. Replying to
an old message, even if you change the subject can confuse mail readers
which thread conversations - in my case, your message was indented
under the one you replied to. Some people could therefore miss your
message if they were ignoring the older topic.

On your crash, I'm not sure about the cause, but I doubt it is simply
the size of your kmy file, although there were a number of crashes that
have been fixed since 4.8.1. Unfortunately, 5.0 is not yet available
for Windows. (I may post a separate message suggesting that Windows
users could get 5.0 by either running Linux inside a VirtualBox
instance, or by using Cygwin.) Do you get any sort of error, or does
the program just disappear when it crashes?

My suggestion for now is just to save early and often. That way, even
if you do crash, you will only have a small number of actions you need
to repeat after restarting. Also, if you can launch KMyMoney from a
command prompt, you might also get some more useful information about
the cause of the crash, but I don't actually know how easy or hard that
might be.

Jack
