problem linking against libgmp: was: KMyMoney stable release 4.8.2

I have libgmp10; libgmp10:i386; libgmp3-dev; libgmp-dev; all under the
heading 'Installed Version' 2.6.0.0. in synaptic package manager.
However when searching the system for the specific names as you have
given below, I find that I have libgmp.so linking to libgmp.so.10.2.0
and libgmpxx.so.4.4.0.
I don't know if these are considered old.
As you say the 2.6.0 does not make sense unless it is an internal
version number. I can not find any reference to GMP 6.1.2.
