Open account

All-
     When I try to edit an existing account, I get an error message 
saying "You cannot edit because Open Account is closed." No matter which 
way I try to attack the problem (Home, Accounts, Ledgers) I can get a 
cursor in the cell I want to edit, but can't delete, backspace delete, 
or enter new numbers. Any help will be appreciated.
