Allan,

I agree with your final comment at that enabling everything on 
everything is prudent.  But, keep in mind that some items may need to 
available on buys and sells which are real transactions on assets where 
a true cost basis in needed,  while dividends, yields, and the other 
transaction types are results of already owning an asset and do not 
impact the cost basis of the asset.

Also some of these might require reversal if there is an error by the 
investment firm.  See my Investment: Dividend reversal post.
