That's a really old version, although there was a jump from 1.x to 4.x  
some time ago.  However, although there have been many improvements,  
let's work through your problems in the other thread, and use this one  
to work out your best way to upgrade.  (Ubuntu is known to be somewhat  
behind on KMM versions available.)

Personally, your best bet would be to upgrade your Ubuntu.  I'm not  
sufficiently familiar with their versions, but I suspect 10.04 may even  
be out of support.  13.10 has been released, and 12.04 seems to be the  
current long term supported version.

There is also a PPA repository (claydoh) which has more recent versions  
of KMM for many version of Ubuntu, so that would also be an option for  
upgrading.
