[Kmymoney] how to best update an asset's value to the current market value

In case you treat your asset this way, you will have to turn it into an 
investment account. You could easily do the following:

a) create a security (e.g. property/sqare-meter)
b) give it a symbol (e.g. PSM-House)
c) enter a price for the date you bought the property (e.g. 1000 @ 1/1/2001)
d) create an investment account (opening date 1/1/2001)
e) buy property (e.g. 1000 m²  on 1/1/2001)

now you can check the value of the investment account which should be 
1,000,000)

f) enter a price for today (e.g. 1100 @ 10/1/2012)

The value should change to 1,100,000 w/o any changes in income and expense.


They way you try to do that won't work :(
